Mixed media artist Ayin Es, hailing from Los Angeles, identifies as transgender/nonbinary. They are known for their unusual oil paintings and Artist's books, as well as their work in watercolor and installation. Ayin’s work has been collected by museums such as the Getty, the Brooklyn Museum, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, as well as multiple university collections. A two-time recipient of ARC Grants from the Durfee Foundation, they've also won a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship, the Wynn Newhouse Award, an Artist Achievement Award from the National Arts and Disability Center/California Arts Council, Asylum-Arts in Brooklyn, NY, and the Bruce Geller Memorial Award from the American Jewish University. Ayin lives and works in Joshua Tree, California.
