Bio: Working primarily in clay, Kris Erickson is an artist who uses sculpture to examine and analyse the complex dynamics of interpersonal relationships and societal expectations. Kris's forms are informed by the natural environment, drawing inspiration from the deep New England woods explored in their youth to the diverse, dynamic landscapes of Southern California, where they now live and work. Kris is also a practicing studio potter who creates modern, functional pottery.

Kris Erickson's background includes their early years as a carpenter's apprentice, a BFA in Environmental Art from Otis College of Art + Design, nine years in architecture, and 23 years working in and teaching ceramics at various community studios throughout southern California.

Currently, Kris' installation of sculptural ceramic rattles titled "9 Sisters"  is on display at Claremont Lewis Museum of Art as part of the "Sound Formations: Artist, Musician, Instrument Maker" exhibition.
