Laura Cooper, a Los Angeles based-artist, draws inspiration from natural forms, translating organic structures into intricate works through drawing, sculpture, painting, crochet, and sewing. Her art emulates growth patterns, neural pathways, ocean currents, and elemental forces, using materials that reflect their essence—clay and papier-mâché for large forms, fine textiles and silk, wool, and stainless steel threads interwoven with dried plant materials for delicate details.

Rooted in a life of parenting, teaching, and landscape design, Cooper’s process embraces practical, generational skills like gardening, making, and mending. By expanding upon these domestic traditions, she creates a deeply personal, nature-infused artistic practice.
