Carlos Ramirez (b. 1967, Coachella Valley) is a mixed-media artist whose work reflects his Mexican-American heritage and California pop culture. Formerly part of the duo The Date Farmers, his work has been exhibited at the Oakland Museum of California, Laguna Art Museum, and Palm Springs Art Museum.
Since 2017, Ramirez has developed a distinctive style blending graffiti, Mexican street murals, revolutionary posters, and prison art. His paintings, collages, and sculptures incorporate pop iconography, religious imagery, and desert creatures like coyotes and scorpions, often using found materials. Through his Chicano perspective, he distills complex themes into powerful, symbolic narratives.
